2020 Max Allowable Contribution: $2,750 per calendar year.

The plan year goes from January 1st to December 31st.

You must spend your funds by December 31st, but you can carry over up to $550 to the next calendar plan year.

You must file claims incurred in 2020 by March 31, 2021.

The "Incurred" date is the date you received care: date of service.

Full-time employees are eligible to participate in limited use flex spending accounts (for dental and vision expenses) as of the first day of the month following your hire date. 

NOTE. Once you make an election, you cannot change it mid-year unless you experience a life event such as adoption, birth, divorce, death, marriage, change in residence, court judgment, court order, enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, significant insurance cost or coverage changes, absence due to F.M.L.A. leave, or change from full-time to part-time employment.

To ensure eligibility and coverage, notify Human Resources of life events immediately, but within 31 days of the event.

You can use the full amount of your annual election, even if you have not deposited the full amount. For the remainder of the year, you would contribute the monthly amount you elected.
